Our Hong Kong office, which opened in 1993, was one of the first opened by a major Wall Street firm in Hong Kong and is now our largest non-U.S. office. It currently consists of 8 partners, 2 counsel and 29 associates, and has been involved in many of the most important and high-profile capital markets and M&A/private equity transactions in China and elsewhere in Asia.
During your two-year training contract with Davis Polk, you will undertake a number of rotations through our various practice areas, providing you with the variety of skills and experience necessary to lay the foundation for a successful legal career.
Trainee solicitors will also have the opportunity during their training contract to undertake a secondment to the firm’s New York office. As a trainee solicitor you will be assigned to a senior lawyer, who will serve as a mentor and provide advice and guidance throughout the program.
Davis Polk offers four-week vacation schemes in the summer and winter for students interested in being considered for training contracts. During each vacation scheme, students will have the opportunity to work on international transactions for a variety of firm clients and attend training programs designed to teach skills required to become an effective solicitor as well as information sessions focused on the work of our Asia practice. Students will also have the opportunity to experience Davis Polk’s culture through interactions with lawyer mentors and attendance at social events.
Applications for the 2015/2016 winter vacation scheme must be received by August 1, 2015. Please complete the online application and be sure to include a resume, transcript and cover letter indicating the year you intend to commence a training contract and why you would like to be considered for a summer vacation scheme at Davis Polk.
